We didn't start with data. We started with duct tape.
Octus Network is a community intelligence company (we measure communities so brands and organizers can make smarter decisions) founded in Atlanta by Simon Thomas. Before there was a platform, there were cable runs at 5 AM and stages that needed building. That's where the problem got impossible to ignore.
Production floors to intelligence.
Simon Thomas started in event production: lighting rigs, loading stages, pulling cable at cultural events across the Southeast. Night after night, the same scene played out. Organizers were pouring everything into their communities and walking into brand meetings empty-handed.
The ticketing platform counted tickets. The sponsors counted impressions modeled from photos three weeks later. The actual community existed as a story. Never as a dataset. Year after year. Event after event. Same gap.
So we built the thing that was missing.
“Every research company I called wouldn't send a single person to the floor.”Simon Thomas Founder
One company. Three layers.
Octus Network
Intelligence and activation for cultural events. Founded in Atlanta. Everything starts here.
Octus Intelligence
The system that connects your data, measures engagement, and turns it into revenue proof. Works on your behalf, continuously.
The Octus Network
When intelligence reveals what needs to happen, vetted partners help execute across production, creative, tech, and operations.
Diagnose. Prove. Activate.
What we believe about measurement.
Patterns, not people
We measure communities in aggregate. No individual tracking. No surveillance.
Verdicts, not guesses
Every engagement ends with a signed report. What happened, what it means, what to do next.
Operators on the floor
If we can't deploy, we don't take the engagement. No exceptions.
Methodology on every page
Every metric is labeled Measured (directly observed), Calculated (derived from observed data), or Estimated (informed projection). Full transparency.
Attendees are stakeholders
Better intelligence means better experiences, not better surveillance.
Beats & Ballads was the test.
A 308-person cultural event in Atlanta. We deployed the full intelligence model. OEI 75.97 (our 0-100 score measuring how deeply people connected with the event). A community that had never been measured turned out to be worth proving.

Beats & Ballads
- •Dwell time remains strong, signaling deep content resonance within the community.
- •Amplification outpaces industry benchmarks across key channels.
- •NPS momentum continues upward, driven by community trust and relevance.
This is what a Community Profile (an ongoing picture of who your audience is) looks like inside Octus Intelligence. OEI scoring, engagement metrics, community health (whether your audience is growing, engaged, and coming back), and headline insights. Updated continuously.
If you can build an intelligence model that works in Atlanta, where communities are deeply specific and cultural verticals overlap in ways that resist categorization, it works anywhere.
Your community is already creating value. Let’s prove it.
